LONG BEACH, Calif. (March 4, 2010) -- For the second consecutive year, Cholula Hot Sauce – “The Flavorful Fire” -- will be turning up the heat at the 36th Annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, April 16-18, as the race’s Official Hot Sauce.

Cholula will be served at condiment stands throughout the race circuit, and race fans can pick up a free bottle of Cholula and enjoy games and prizes at the company’s booth in the Lifestyle Expo, located in the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center.

Cholula will present the “Hot Lap of the Day” Award to the fastest IZOD IndyCar Series driver in Friday’s qualifying session and, in addition, the Cholula name will be highly visible throughout race weekend on the Shoreline Drive pedestrian bridge.

Made from a well-guarded, 100-year-old recipe that blends pequin peppers, red peppers and spices, Cholula Hot Sauce is made in Chapala, Mexico, a one-hour drive from the city of Guadalajara.

“We’re pleased to welcome back Cholula Hot Sauce,” said Jim Michaelian, President and CEO of the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach. “We know our fans enjoyed Cholula’s presence here last year and, since Cholula has been a long-time supporter of IndyCar racing, we hope to have them with us for many future races.”

The Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach will scorch the downtown Long Beach streets with continuous action from six racing series. In addition to the IZOD IndyCar Series, the weekend will include team drifting, Firestone Indy Lights, SCCA Pro World Challenge and two fan favorites on Saturday, April 17:  the sports cars of the Tequila Patrón American Le Mans Series at Long Beach and the 34th Annual Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race, with film star Keanu Reeves expected to return as a “pro” and try for a second straight win.
